About meHello, name is Deirdre O’Donoghue. I live in Cahir, Co Tipperary surrounded by the beautiful Galtee Mountains.
I began my journey into the world of healthcare more than 20 years ago, when I qualified as an addiction counsellor. On this journey I became more and more fascinated by nutrition and the impact this has on our overall health. “One man’s meat is another man’s poison”. I realised how true this old aphorism was and the importance of individually taking a critical look at what we eat in order to develop healthy eating habits, which support long term optimum health. It was on this journey that I found the research fascinating: that what we eat, how we eat, and the environment that we eat in, can have such a profound effect on our physical, mental and emotional health. In my practice I specialise in getting to the root cause of your symptoms. I use science based evidence to develop personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans to support you in restoring you back to the health you once had. Realising at this point that not only the food we eat plays such a crucial role in our health and wellbeing, I also realised that it was not the full picture. I went on to become a yoga teacher with the Alpha Zone School of Yoga, Waterford, which included 200 hours of clinical practice. I am trained in both Hata and Vinyasa yoga, which now enables me to support my clients mental and emotional wellbeing also. As a working mother of 3 children I recognise the importance of, not only healthy nutritious food, for the whole family, but the importance of having it on the table in the least amount of time! I work with my clients in a holistic manner incorporating my clinical skills, knowledge in nutrition, yoga, and meditation. I am a member of Nutritional Therapists of Ireland, International Yoga Alliance and I am fully insured. Looking forward to working with you. Deirdre |
